Legal English

The 1-to-1 classes will focus on your individual needs and will develop your Legal English vocabulary and communication skills, taking into account your specific line of work. Legal English courses are suitable for lawyers, paralegals, legal secretaries, students or professors of law or professionals working in legal departments.

This course can also help you prepare for the Test of Legal English Skills (TOLES).

Conversation English

Individual Tuition (one-to-one) is for adults who want to work at their own pace and focus only on English vocabulary and topics which are relevant to them.

Individual Tuition means you can learn English quickly as you will have teachers who are dedicated entirely to your needs and requirements.  Substantial progress can often be made in a short time.

During the one-to-one classes you can choose to focus on English conversation practice, pronunciation, presentations and work or research related projects, particular grammar problems or vocabulary development.

We recommend one-to-one classes for beginner level students.

What to expect:

  • Personal needs analysis before arrival
  • Flexible tailor-made programme discussed with your teacher(s)
  • Focus on individual needs, wants, strengths and weaknesses
  • Choose to have some of your lessons out of the classroom.  You can visit museums, galleries, sights with your teacher

General English

General English courses are for adults who want to work in a small group with a maximum of 5 students to improve speaking and listening ability in English for work, travel or fun.  A small group with only 5 students or less means you can practise English conversation naturally and participate fully in every activity. Small groups give you more teacher time as well as more confidence and opportunity to speak in English.

What to expect:

  • discuss a wide range of topics relevant to contemporary life and society
  • develop your general English vocabulary so you can express yourself precisely and confidently in a variety of situations
  • listen to and watch different types of media
  • read various articles so you can extend your knowledge of Scottish and British culture
  • review common grammar problems and extend grammar knowledge
  • improve pronunciation and spoken fluency

Travel English

This course helps students easily learn the language needed for all common travel situations. This program unlocks many doors allowing you more enjoyment & richer experiences on your important trips & vacations.

  • Travel, work or study worldwide more easily

Academic English

Academic English courses are for individuals who would like to improve their English language skills for academic purposes before starting their studies at an English speaking university.

The course in an excellent opportunity to develop English skills in an academic context before starting a course or career at a university.

Financial English courses are suitable for accountants, auditors, bank employees or other professionals working in the finance sector.

Medical English

he 1-to-1 Medical English lessons will focus on your individual needs, taking into account your specific line of work. Medical English courses are suitable for doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, students of medicine and other professionals working in the medical sector. This course is also suitable for clients studying for the OET exam (Occupational English Test).

What to expect:

  • improve general and social English language skills and your pronunciation
  • enhance your communication skills for dealing with English-speaking patients and colleagues
  • raise awareness of intercultural issues and ‘international English’
  • develop specific vocabulary and expressions for English used in the medical sector
  • practise giving presentations in English or taking a patient history, if necessary

English For Tourism Professionals

The English for Tourism Services course combines working in a small group in the mornings to develop general English speaking and listening communication skills with one-to-one classes in the afternoons. The one-to-one classes focus on individual needs and will develop your vocabulary and language skills related to the area of tourism you work in.

We will send you a needs analysis form before your arrival and ask you to give us specific details about your sector and your precise English requirements. Popular requests include hotel services language, reception or information desk services; giving city and country tourism information, explaining possible day trips or concerts and activities, booking accommodation, reserving travel tickets; explaining restaurant and eating options; guided tours and itinerary planning.

This course is suitable for employees working in a variety of tourism industry areas such as hotels and accommodation facilities, information centres, tourist attractions and public transport services. In addition, staff working as guides, rangers, tour managers, travel consultants, resort workers, hospitality and catering staff and other tourist related industry services will find this course useful.
